Rose Plant

Rose Plant for the longest time have enjoyed the honour of being the most popular flowers in the world. Rose is a perennial flower shrub or vine of the genus Rosa, within the family  Rosaceous, that contains many species and comes in a variety of colours. There are many of rose cultivars that people grow in gardens and on farms. The names used to describe the different types often refer to one species that is the main ancestor of that group, for example, Gallica Rose Plant are mostly descended from Rosa gallica.Other groups have several different species among their ancestors. Hybrid Tea Rose Plant, Floribunda Rose Plant, and English Rose Plant are the most common in gardens today. They are of so many colours like red, yellow, orange, pink, purple and so on.

Miniatures

As the name indicates, these Rose plants have blooms which are nearly 1 ½ inches across or lesser than that. Most of these miniatures were created from Rosa chinensis ‘Minima’ Their plans are 6 to 18 inches tall. The smaller bloom, foliage and bush size makes them different from other Rose Plant. Its small bush produces a dozen or more blooms. They require direct sunlight for nearly five to six hours. Rose have shallow roots and therefore need a lot of water.

Hybrid Tea

These Hybrid tea blossoms are full but too soft to touch. The plants may reach from 8 to several feet in its shrub form. They must be cultivated in areas where heat and humidity both gets mixed up in summers. They are available in almost every color excluding blue and the black ones.

Old Garden Rose Plant

These were famous before 20th century (past before the onset of Hybrid Teas). They exhibit characteristics like sturdy as they are able to cope up with a cold winter season and also good in keeping away the diseases. This designation of Old Garden Rose Plant is provided by the American Rose Society. They show irregular growth habits. Many of these Rose Plant have a desirable strong fragrance. Some of the spring blooming old Rose Plant are Albas, Damasks, Centifolia.

• The cultivated Rose was probably Northern Persia, on the Faristan or  Caspian, on the Gulf of Persia. 
• Historically, the oldest Rose fossils have been found in Colorado, dating back to more than 35 million years ago.
• Rose Plant were considered the most sacred flowers in ancient Egypt and were used as offerings for the Goddess Isis. 
• Rose Plant have also been found in Egyptian tombs, where they were formed into funeral wreaths.
• Confucius, 551 BC to 479 BC, reported that the Imperial Chinese library had many books on Rose Plant.
• Ancient Sumerians of Mesopotamia (in the Tigris-Euphrates River Valley) mentioned Rose Plant in a cuneiform tablet (a system of writing) written in approximately 2860 BC.
• The English were already cultivating and hybridizing Rose Plant in the 15th Century when the English War of Rose Plant took place. The winner of the war, Tudor Henry VII, created the Rose of England (Tudor Rose) by crossbreeding other Rose Plant.
• Rose Plant are universal and grown across the world.
